With the new bill of resources (BOM and BOL) changes we have improved the flow of data throughout Clarity, giving even greater ease of use throughout the whole business process.
Accuracy of stock management, purchasing driven by accurately quoted jobs rather than guesswork, and the ability to attribute all cost types to a job make delivering jobs really quick and easy. You can understand more about your operation and where you can make improvements for a slicker, more automated workflow.
Introduced to v4.1 are new price list item Cost Types to work alongside the existing options of Material, Labour and Non-Stock, which has been significantly developed to become the core Type to facilitate seamless integration across the system.
Now you can specify a Part as a Resource - for example, a Machine - or an Outsourced Part, such as powder coating, graphic design work or any other sub-contractor activity or third party process.
All types are logically processed depending on their Type, allowing you to easily Purchase to demand and keep track of your stock.
This allows you to include and report on costs against jobs broken down by Cost Type, which will empower you to make calculated decisions on purchasing, production and future pricing of similar items.

The new web-based Shop Floor Data Collection (SFDC) software has the ability to start multiple tasks at the same time using the new Batch Update feature. For example, this is ideal for artwork and design workers who tend to start a batch of work or when making a group of jobs using the same materials. The finish times are accurately proportioned across the tasks as they are completed as a group or individually.
In the new version you can also enter the Actual Material Usage against a job. This allows you to specify if the quantity used was different to that on your original estimate and if a different length or type was ultimately used.
