Touch Tips

Quick search techniques for Contacts

Welcome to the first instalment of Touch Tips! This issue we will be looking at an alternative method for searching through your contact database in Clarity.

The standard contact browser is shown below, allowing you to define your search criteria by 'Type', 'Group', 'Business type' and other options. However, sometimes you may want to perform a quick search on a field without having to set up the search parameters:

Clicking on the 'Down Arrow' circled above will display the Quick Lookup search pane:

Using this new quick search window you are now able to perform a search based upon the available fields, as well as 'combined searches' which filters by inputs in several fields.

For example, typing an 'a' in both the 'Company' field and the 'Surname' field will bring up contacts where both the company and the contact surname start with the letter 'a'. Alternatively, you might wish to provide the full company name, but just the first initial of the contact's surname:

To return to the standard Clarity search screen click the 'Up Arrow' in the top right-hand corner of the search window.

Did you Know?

You can jump directly to the search box on any window within Clarity by pressing the 'F12' key!

That's all for this month but be sure to check back in the next issue of intouch for more tips on getting the best out of Clarity.
