The Goods Handling Module
Price Lists, Quotes/Jobs, Goods and Purchase Orders interact together to enable you to monitor the materials you have in stock and to know when commonly used materials
must be re-ordered. Booking goods in through the Goods module will mark the goods as recieved or part received in Purchase Orders and if the goods were bought for a Job,
immediately allocate the stock to the Job otherwise the goods are booked into stock which is updated in the Price Lists.
Goods can be picked and allocated to Jobs and a complete traceable history of stock movements is available.

Preparation
Goods handling is a sophisticated management tool and time and effort will be saved if you firstly plan the manner in which you will be managing your goods.
Clarity allows you three levels of physical stock management, "Warehouses", "Primary Positions" and "Secondary Positions". How you deploy these will depend upon how
your business is structured. If yours is a large organisation with depots in various cities across the country or across the world, then your warehouses may be the
names of the depots, and the other levels will determine the location of the goods within those depots.
If your organisation is smaller with only one location or one stores department then Clarity will allow you to structure your stock locations to suit your requirements.
If you already have a manual system for the management of stock then most of your preparation for Clarity Goods Handling is already done, and you only have to configure
Clarity to reflect what you already do.
If your stock has previously been managed on an ad-hoc basis and you do not require stock locations, you may dispense with them.
