Saf Abseils for Charity!

In March this year, our very own Saf Ahmed was feeling very brave and abseiled down one of Birmingham's tallest buildings for charity. Saf kindly took some time out from his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us.

Q. Good Morning Saf. You recently abseiled down the Fort Dunlop building in Birmingham. How did this come about?

A. As a regular contributor to charities I was invited by the British Stroke Association to take part in the International Man of Mystery Event in March.

Q.How did you manage to raise sponsorship?

A. Friends and family were extremely generous and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all.

Q. What was the experience like?

A. I have never done an abseil before, so I didn’t really know what to expect!!! When we arrived at the location I could see people coming down the face and to be honest it looked quite easy. Once I got to the top of the building that soon changed!!! The view was really intimidating which made the initial “step off” the roof rather daunting. When I looked down I could see all the people and they looked so tiny, except for David who was pointing the mother of all zoom-lenses right at me! Zeynab, my loving wife, was also there to make a video; I don’t know who was more worried, me or her! To be honest, the organisers did a fantastic job and I was soon back on terra firma. The adrenaline was pumping and I would jump at the chance to do it again

Q. How much money did you raise?

A. £240 :)
